CNA schools in Colorado have a combination of classroom instruction and hands on (clinical) labs that total over 80 hours of training, which exceeds the federal government minimum requirement. Clinical CNA care training is performed under the supervision of an instructor, usually a Registered Nurse. The hands on portion of training may be completed in a nursing facility or at a licensed home care agency. All programs cover emergency care, personal care and assistance with ADLs (activities of daily living).
At Abby Senior Care many of our caregiver staff hold a current certified nursing assistant license. We also provide caregiver orientation training and continuing education training of at least 6 hours per year. This on-going training is important to keep our caregivers actively engaged and informed about senior home care issues and illnesses.
We guarantee compatibility of our CNAs and other caregivers for every client. We make a recommendation and assignment based on our assessment of your needs and desires; but if for any reason you want to replace the caregiver, we are happy to do so. We aim to make your home care experience as comfortable, easy, and enjoyable as possible.
Our CNAs and other caregivers assist with personal care such as bathing, dressing, and toileting. They also do light housekeeping to keep the home tidy and organized. If your loved one needs an escort or transportation to doctors appointments, social events, physical therapy, or just an outing, our caregivers are trained to assist with those things also. They also cook. They focus on supporting a healthy and safe environment with all the comforts of home.
